Portsmouth were held to a goalless draw by Lincoln City at Fratton Park on Saturday. The stalemate means John Mousinho's side are still waiting for their first home victory of the new League One campaign.
Neither side could find a breakthrough in a tight contest. Portsmouth had the better of the possession and territory but struggled to create clear-cut chances against a disciplined Lincoln defence. The visitors offered a threat on the counter-attack, ensuring the Pompey back line had to stay alert throughout.
John Mousinho made several changes to his starting lineup, with Joe Knight and Marlon Pack returning in midfield. "It's a point on the board, but we wanted all three," Mousinho said after the match. "We controlled large parts of the game but lacked that final bit of quality in the final third."
The result leaves Portsmouth in the middle of the early-season standings. They have taken four points from their opening three matches. The clean sheet will be a positive for a defence that conceded twice in their previous home outing.
Portsmouth's next fixture is a trip to face Burton Albion at the Pirelli Stadium next Saturday.
