Portsmouth are in advanced talks to sign FC Volendam's Gibson Yah on a free transfer, sources have told Football Insider. The defensive midfielder is set to be available as a free agent after failing to agree new terms on an extension after Volendam's relegation from the Eredivisie.

Yah's time at Volendam appears to be coming to a sorry end, and it could be a make-or-break moment in his footballing career already. With experience in both Ajax and Utrecht's academies, the defensive midfielder developed into quite the figure in the middle of the park.
