Four Portsmouth supporters have been banned from matches and fined following a series of court cases for fan misconduct. The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary’s football unit reported fines totalling £1,601 from the incidents, which occurred at Fratton Park and other grounds last season.
Nial Carr, 24, was fined £141 for throwing a bottle at Southampton fans during the January derby at Fratton Park. He was sentenced on 20 August.
Hayden Bussell received a three-year Football Banning Order and was ordered to pay £925 after hurling a flare ahead of Southampton's match against Middlesbrough on 12 May.
Mark Vincent, 60, of Southsea, was given a three-year ban and fined £185 for threatening behaviour during Portsmouth's home game against Leicester City in April. Farren Jervis, 23, was also banned for three years and fined £350 for throwing a bottle at Oxford United players in a match last season.
The club, currently 18th in the Championship with seven points from six games, faces Blackburn Rovers at home this Saturday. The recent run of form has seen two wins, one draw and two defeats from the last five outings.
With key players like Connor Ogilvie and Josh Murphy currently sidelined, the focus returns to on-pitch matters at Fratton Park this weekend.
